Windsor native Mayne makes short film based on Stephen King story
The Windsor native is now putting the finishing touches on the short film Willa, based on the Stephen King story, in time for the 2019 film festival season.
“We had a crew of over 100 and trailers on the set,” said Mayne, now based in Toronto. “It was surreal. The biggest thing I’ve ever done.

2018 now kicks off with Willa post production AND pre-production on our next show — to be announced later in the year.
2017 was full of milestones for Formido Films. Most notably, officially partnering with my long-time collaborator, producer Barbara Szeman (of BarbwireTV Productions) for Willa — a haunting ghost story based on the Stephen King short.
Willa was originally published in King's compendium of short stories, Just After Sunset (2008), and has been made available to emerging filmmakers thanks to King's amazing 'Dollar Baby' initiative.
